Tick...tock...waiting for baby!

So I am 38 weeks and 1 day today and am officially done working until this baby comes.  Yesterday was my first day of no work and I must say, it was awfully nice!  I took a two hour nap and loved it.

I woke up this morning to a pretty strong contraction...the strongest that I've felt so far but haven't had any since.  I went to the doctor yesterday and she checked me and said my cervix is softening but still closed.  So I'm guessing this little boy is snug as a bug in a rug and will come when he decides to come.

In the meantime, Chris and I have definitely been "nesting".  I have been doing laundry and organizing the baby's room while Chris has been getting the house fixed and putting together all the new baby items i.e. changing table, stroller, swing, etc.  Chris asked me the other day why his nesting costs a lot more than mine, lol.  Trust me, I am paying in ways he will never be able to imagine just by carrying this sweet child.

As the days go by, I am getting more excited to meet and hold this sweet baby Benny and less excited about labor and delivery.  I pray every night that I have a smooth and safe labor and delivery without any complications (if any of you want to join me in that prayer, please feel free!) : ) I'm anxious because this is obviously my first time and I don't really know what to expect.  Other than what the one million random women have felt the need to tell me about their deliveries and all the episodes of "A Baby Story" that I've been watching.  We all know that no two deliveries are the same, so I'm going in with the "expect the unexpected" mentality.

I am ready to get this show on the road, but I will be patient knowing that each day he is inside me is another day of development.  I am already getting a little sad about not being able to feel him move around inside my belly anymore.  I know, that may be a little strange to some of you but feeling him move and kick and jab in my belly has been the BEST part of being pregnant.

So, we are on to the countdown folks!  Please keep us in your prayers!
